What is the load/weight capacity for the Standalone Shelf?

The shelf is rated to 10kg, evenly distributed across the shelf. We recommend it as storage for lightweight and soft cargo.

Can we still use the third-row seats with the Shelf installed?

Any modifications to your vehicle’s third-row area may impact its compliance with safety regulations. We do not recommend carrying passengers in this space after modifications as it presents a dangerous safety hazard.
 
Additionally, some modifications that affect passenger capacity may require certification (mod-plating) to ensure your vehicle remains compliant with your state or territory’s regulations. We recommend checking with your local transport authority for specific requirements.

Is the Standalone Shelf compatible with the Kaon Light Cargo Barrier?

Yes. The newest models of Standalone Shelf (KS0645) and Light Cargo Barrier (KS0644) are compatible. Instructions for installing them together are provided. 

For products pre-June 2023:

Pre-June 2023 Light Cargo Barrier (KS0034) + Current Standalone Shelf (KS0645) = layer the Cargo Barrier handle brackets over the Shelf handle brackets. The rear fence on the shelf will need to be removed. 

Pre-June 2023 Standalone Shelf (KS0302) + New Light Cargo Barrier (KS0644) = layer the Cargo Barrier handle brackets over the Shelf handle brackets. The rear fence on the shelf will need to be removed.

Is the Standalone Shelf compatible with other models of Cargo Barrier?

The Standalone Rear Roof Shelf may not fit if you already have a cargo barrier installed in your vehicle.

From the centre of the handle to the shelf fence (back of shelf / most forward point in car) is 300mm. 

How big is the Standalone Shelf?

The shelf measures 1180 x 475mm. 

What are the clearance when installed?

Clearances when installed (subject to variances of up to +/-5mm): 

Roof to shelf base: 
175mm

Shelf base to floor: 
760mm 

Why does the Y62 Standalone Shelf include an additional Molle Panel?

The grab handles in many vehicles, particularly older models, are mounted to captive nuts in the vehicle's frame. The Y62 mounts use a unique system, where the handles are fixed to a bracket that is then welded to the frame up in the roof. These Side Panels provide support and additional peace of mind to suit the unconventional nature of the Y62 mounting system.
