Details
The Kuat Piston Fender Strap Kit is designed to provide added security when transporting bikes fitted with mudguards or fenders. Specifically made for the Piston family of racks, it helps stabilise bikes where traditional tyre arms may have limited contact due to fender placement, ensuring a safer and more secure hold during transit.
When You Need It
Küat's fit chart goes by where the rear mudguard ends. If it ends at 12 o'clock, you don't need the kit. If it ends between 12 and 3 o'clock, use the kit; the maximum wheelbase becomes 1143mm, or 1194mm with tyres under 51mm wide. If it reaches past 3 o'clock, the bike won't fit a Piston rack. The kit has two short straps for tyres under 76mm wide and two long straps for wider tyres.
Features
- Two short straps for tyres under 76mm (3") wide and two long straps for wider tyres
- Stainless steel buckles and hook-and-loop straps that wrap the rear tyre and the Piston tyre arm
- Rear mudguard ending between 12 and 3 o'clock: use the kit. Ending at 12 o'clock: no kit needed. Past 3 o'clock: the bike won't fit
- With the kit, the maximum wheelbase is 1143mm, or 1194mm with tyres under 51mm (2") wide
- Fits the Piston Pro, Pro X and SR and their add-ons. The Piston ION comes with its own fender straps
