The Redarc BCDC1240D is a rugged 12V, 40A in-vehicle DC-DC battery charger designed to keep your auxiliary battery fully charged using power from your vehicle’s alternator or portable solar panels. Whether you’re touring, towing, or travelling off-grid, it ensures your batteries stay charged and your adventures uninterrupted.

Dual DC and Solar Charging

Equipped with an integrated Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) solar regulator, the BCDC1240D can charge from both DC and solar inputs simultaneously. Its built-in Green Power Priority automatically selects solar power first, reducing alternator load and maximising energy efficiency.

Engine Bay Ready

Built tough for under-bonnet installation, the BCDC1240D is fully sealed and potted to withstand heat, water, dust, and vibration. Operating in extreme temperatures up to 80°C, it’s proven to perform in the harshest conditions—from the Simpson Desert to Cape York.

Smart Charging Technology

With patented charging profiles, including a dedicated lithium profile, the BCDC1240D optimises charging for a wide range of batteries:
AGM, Gel, Standard Lead Acid, Calcium, and LiFePO? (lithium).
It’s suitable for 12V or 24V vehicle systems and works seamlessly with both standard and variable (smart) alternators.

Ideal for Medium to Large Battery Banks

Perfect for lead acid battery banks over 200Ah or lithium batteries over 100Ah, the BCDC1240D delivers efficient, reliable power for energy-demanding setups. For smaller systems (75–200Ah), Redarc recommends the BCDC1225D.
