Altacut saves on film by pre-nesting all the windows to achieve the most efficient reduction of wastage. Altacut achieves afficientcy by lacing window templates in areas of film where either the installer normally cannot cut or would not cut a template.
The greatest amount of tinting savings is achieved when the templates are cut off the plotter. Altacut allows a window to be cut at the exact edge of a window. Hand cutting the film does not allow for this so even when an installer is trying to minimise the amount of tint used there is always at least 2 inchs of film waste per side of the window. This amounts to over 3 square feet per car. This waste can be considerable and possibly double the square footage per car.
It takes an installer an average of 15-20 minutes to cut the sides and rear window of a four door vehicle. It takes Altacut 3-5 minutes to cut tint for a whole vehicle, this is where Altacut really saves on time. While the vehicle is being cut on the plotter, the installer can prepare the vehicle for tinting. |
